Horace Nwachukwu, D.P.A., was appointed the Commission Auditor in December 2011 by the Board of County Commissioners. Prior to his employment with Osceola County, Horace worked as the Audit Manager for Office of the Commission Auditor, Miami-Dade County. He has also worked as a Senior Auditor for various State of Florida agencies.
He holds an undergraduate degree in Business Economics and a Master of Applied Social Sciences from Florida A&M University. He earned his Doctor of Public Administration (D.P.A) from Valdosta State University where his dissertation "Assessing Efficiency in Public Organizations: The Role of Internal Audit Function" sought to deepen the understanding of the political, social, and most importantly the financial benefits that accrue to public organizations as a result of audit recommendations.
He is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP). He is also a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Association of Fraud Examiners (ACFE), the Association of Local Government Auditors (ALGA), ISACA and the American Society of Public Administrators (ASPA).
